It has been a week of stress, sickness and word counts.
Last Friday's post was in the morning. In the afternoon we bought a house. GAH! Naturally I wasted HUGE amounts of time thinking about what kind of renovations we need to do, how I should arrange the furniture, etc. This involved much Internet browsing looking for good decorating site. Saturday's word count was pitiful.
MrIcy gave me his cough, which developed on Tuesday afternoon into a full blown and nasty cold. In the end I had to take Wednesday and Thursday off work so I wouldn't gross anyone out while I coughed up a lung. Luckily MissIcy was well and could go to day care as normal.
Wednesday night I made half way with 25006 words. YAY!
Thursday night/Friday morning MissIcy woke up four times. This is not condusive to recovering from a cold, nor to acutally writing (in fact it's actually worse for writing than being sick).
Friday we handed over a very large cheque to confirm that yes, in six weeks, we will officially own a new house. Luckily NaNoWriMo will be over by then.
I've also discovered that I don't think my novel is actually going to make 50000 words, plus the 18737 I had written previously. I think I'm going to have to go back through and make up other things that happen.
Despite all of this I've been pretty happy with my word counts. We're going away next weekend, so I really need to build up a bit of a buffer so I still finish on time.
And can I just say: I'M HAVING SO MUCH FUN!!
INDIVIDUALLY RELATED
Writing forward
