I saw a beautiful trench coat on a woman walking down the street, so wonderful in fact I wanted to run up to her and demand to know where she bought it from. Unfortunately, before I plucked up the courage, she was gone. So I’ll tell you about it instead.
Most women tie belt of their trench at the back to pull some shape into what can be a very boxy jacket. This woman went one better. The back of her trench was shirred (gathered with many strips of fine elastic) in a large panel across the back. The material of the jacket was fairly soft, so this created a lovely gather across the skirt of the jacket at the back.
It was a really effective look, and I can see that it would be possible to create a simply divine effect by embroidering over the top of the gathered section.
So, if you’re a little bit creative, or you know someone who is, you might consider this idea.

I love that idea!
Simplicity in design, so you don't have to fiddle with it constantly.
Heya Everyday, it really was a great and simple detail. Thanks for visiting as well.
