The Business Review Weekly complains in a story in The Sydney Morning Herald that Elle Macpherson was “controlling and prickly”. SMH says that this isn’t “model-like behaviour. This seems like pretty normal behaviour for an owner of a massively successful business empire to me. If Elle Macpherson was a male business leader, would we even be discussing this?
To me, this once again seems like a double standard, where successful women are judged by a different set of rule to successful men.
What do you think?

BRW are jumping on the guns now - Elle MacPherson was a difficult person to interview. Same with Anna Wintour...
I can see the double standards between men and women. Men feel intimidated by women who succeed, especially in the corporate world.
But, there may be a possibility that Elle does treat journalists, her employees etc. appallingly. Who knows.
Hey 5'0" (^_^), thanks for visiting again.
My point is that she may be appallingly behaved (I don't , but if she was a male CEO, would that have made the news?
I don't think so.
Rarely, unless they are caught doing dodgy dealings - ask the CEO for the Cronulla Sharks that.
I can name a few male CEOs who have appalling behaviour too. Not to mention the mistresses they have.
The late Kerry Packer was known to have a bad temper too - not to mention the few mistresses he had. His legacy to the TV industry overrides that.
Hey 5'0", You're absoulutely right about Kerry Packer, and I think Elle's legacy (magazine built from nothing, clothing line, etc) should speak for her in the same way.
