Dated yellow jacket

She was about 45, wearing a lovely black and white dress, black work shoes with a reasonably elegant heel and she would have looked nice, except for the jacket. Yep, the jacket grabbed the whole thing and yoinked it right back to 1984.

It was pale yellow, and while the colour itself was spot on the money at the moment, the cut was seriously dated. It had short sleeves (and I mean above the elbow), it was cut past the hips and had patch pockets and it just didn’t work.

If only she had shucked the jacket, the whole look would have been modern and professional; with it she looked dated and old fashioned. All I can say is be really, really careful when pulling something old out of your wardrobe, make sure it actually works today.
