If your shirt has a cross-over details, make sure the cross-under bit sits under your boobs. These are reasonably popular at the moment as a variation on the baby-doll thing. However, if you have big boobs, please please please make sure that the under-bust line sits under your bust. If the shirt riding up across your boobs, (or worse, above) it’s not a good look, and I mean really not a good look.

It makes women look like they have 2 sets of boobs *giggling*
Or worse, deformed boobs..
I also find that those empire waist tops, if they don't drape properly (and they flare out at the belly area), they can make women look pregnant (although are quite comfortable apparently, if you are preggers..)
Quadraboobs! The empire waist tops I agree are perfect if you are pregnant (I've got a huge amount of choice), but I couldn't wear them before. I just looked preggers when I wasn't.
I've gotten sooooo picky about this! I don't even like when they ride up the book a hair, so it drives me nuts whenever by chest gets larger (that's somehow where I tend to gain weight, even post-reduction).
Oddly enough, some of the empire waist tops in the maternity section are a good choice for people like myself who have the boobage but want to where empire waists (and not look preggers).
Meg, Looking preggers or not with an empire line seems to all depend on if you have a waist or not. For me (even before) I always had a belly in profile (though I looked find from the front), and they just didn't suit me. I've seen lots of people though that they work fabulously for (and obviously you're one of them ^_^)
