Individual Chic: Oh, my eyes, my eyes!

05 September 2007

Oh, my eyes, my eyes!

I was in Kogarah on the weekend, not far from the hospital. It was a lovely day, about 23 degrees and about 11:00am. There was no storm, or forbidding music playing on the radio, so I was unprepared for what assaulted my eyes that fine and sunny day.

Oh, the horror, the horror!

She was somewhere in her 40s and what could be politely described as dumpy; normal looking in other words. Well, apparently normal, except for a deficient sense of what was appropriate to wear out of her house, even more so than some people.

She was wearing her pink sleeping shirt and holding the morning paper. Yep, that was it.

I know she wasn’t wearing a bra, trust me I know. Things were … jiggling. The shirt hit at just above mid thigh, so I saw a lot of her badly tanned legs. All I can say is I hope she was wearing undies as well.

I was scarred for life. I still have these images chasing around my head and I can’t get them out!!!

Ooooooohhhh nooooooo! I'm so sorry. There's no excuse for that. She could at the very, very least throw on a bathrobe! ... or some gym shorts, or a bra, or a jacket...

Never stop posting these things. It's such an encouragement to me that somebody cares!

Reminds me of the time I cheerfully greeted my (male) neighbor as he hurried out with the garbage or something. When he came out from behind the car, I saw that he was wearing ... boxers. that's all.

Oh, the humanity! People should really have mercy.

Yes, I too thought pyjamas were for home-only wear, but they seem to be 'coming out'!

Apparently Petersham RSL has found it necessary to amend their dress code to include a 'no Pyjamas and slippers' clause.

OK, I can imagine (just) nipping a few metres outside your front door in PJs, but a club? What are people thinking!

And I thought wearing trackies out at night was bad form!

Miss Janey, oh I know, I know.

Red, that's so funny that a club had to actually have a dress code for it. Getting the mail from your mail box in you pjs, fine; going to the club, OH SO NOT FINE! Thanks for sharing ^_^
