New York Fashion Week: ah no, not the toe claw!

New York Fashion Week had a lot of lovely clothes, and lovely shoes to go with the lovely clothes. It’s a shame that they can’t quite get the shoes to fit.

The toe claw is a very unattractive look, despite how pretty (or unpretty) the shoes are.

oooh, seeing tense toes is my chalk on a blackboard...painful!

Cat, some of the shoes are nice, but doing the Hang 10 with them isn't helping ^_^

Yeah, what is it with the toe hang??? To me, that looks SO tacky and just wrecks what would otherwise be a chic or elegant ensemble.

Ick!

And thanks - now I know what to call it. I learn so much from your blog ;)

Known in drag as "serving shrimp." Nasty either way.

i think sometimes there's just so much mayhem backstage, they pick up shoes and wear them whether it fits or not... at least that's what happens on fashion shows i've been backstage at. hahaha! it's crazy!!

Deja Pseu, I agree, just tacky.

Meg, Ick is a good way to describe it. BTW, I don't know if toe claw is the word for it, I think Imade it up ^_^

Sola, "serving shrimp", what a scream, ha!

Gilda, I can imagine it's chaos behind the scenes, but it's still weird that the tow claws still make it through to media photos! Odd.

Do you know why all of the toes hang over?
6 foot tall women to do not have itty bitty size 5 feet, therefore they are required to cram their size 9's into size 6's in order for their feet to "look good". I wish they were allowed to wear shoes that fit!
I saw it being discussed on Next Top Model, where one girl complained about having to don tiny shoes.

Anon, it's funny isn't it. I imagine almost all the models have size 9 feet or above, so they should just have large sizes for the shows. It seems silly to have smaller shoes.
