For many, many, many years I hated them, and hated the way I looked when I was wearing them; they made me different. When I hit University I tried contact lenses, first hard ones then soft. The hard ones were too painful to wear, and the soft not worth the bother. By this time my eyes were at about a -12, seriously short sighted (we're talking coke bottles here).
When I was about 25 I had laser eye surgery in an attempt to get rid of my glasses, or at least significantly reduce the prescription. This was brilliant, but I still needed to wear glasses.
And do you know what? I'm finally happy with my glasses and how they make me look. Admittedly it does help to have a fabulous pair of glasses, as opposed to an ugly, crappy pair (and trust me, I've had those).
Here are some of my old glasses. The top pair I wore when I was about 17-18, and the last pair I'm wearing now. Some of them are sunglasses because I've had the frames refitted. I think you can see from these ones, that the latest pair are obviously the most fabulous. No sides are very cool!

Hear hear!
They also make you look smarter :)
Oh I agree ^_^ I've always felt smarter with them on.
I love my glasses and consider them a fashion accessory. I always try to find frames with some green in them.
Deja Pseu, I'm more a red person (now) but I agree that colour in your frames is important. Most of the ones I've had over the years have been black or gold. Fine, but boring.
