I looked nice yesterday, scooting around in my pretty brown wedges. They are by no means the magical eight-hour shoes Angie of You Look Fab talks of; they’re more in the half-hour category. However, with a 15 minute walk to the station, a seat on the train, and a 10 minute walk at the other end they’re still fine for a work shoe (I sit down most of the day at work).
I have to say though, carrying a heavy load turns a half-hour shoe into a quarter-hour shoe.
I had to carry home a heavy laptop, laptop backpack*, handbag, book, and associated other crap and suddenly my shoes weren’t cutting the mustard. By the time I made it to the train station, my feet were pretty sore, so sore that I was looking for a taxi when I go off at the other end. None were there so I shuffled my way home, doing that awkward shuffle you see women doing when their feet are killing them. Not pretty.
Was there a point to this post? Not really. I just wanted to share with you how half-hour shoes can go to quarter-hour shoes with the addition of weight.
* And why are laptop bags so heavy anyway?

Eaagh.. I get that too. I've taken to literally carrying a pair of slim flip flops wherever I go, and wearing them when I cannot take the pain any longer.
I've also set a rule to buy heels no higher than 2" at the max now.. it used to be 3" but that's really uncomfortable for me. :)
Hope your feet feel better!!!
I also try to have a pair of flip flops with me if I'm wearing shoes that I think might become uncomfortable. I also carry plenty of bandaids with me to cushion spots if I suspect that they are blistering.
Sorry your feet hurt! Do you think they might be swelling a bit?
Yeah, I know, I normally wear flats to and from work, but this day I just wanted something a bit different. I would have been find if I hadn't had to carry the laptop home...
