They just make your feet and ankles look weird and are not flattering to anyone. If you wear them with skirts, they just look strange, if you wear them with pants, well why bother in the first place.
Here are some specific examples of some ugly shoes.

I have NEVER understood the appeal of booties. If you wear them with skirts, it looks very odd, (even ankle or calf-high boots with skirts are odd in my opinion, and best left to being worn with pants).
Some girls can rock it, but I certainly cannot, and just have never understood it.. when you wear them with pants, they get caught INSIDE the booties.
BTW.. as a side note, thanks for tryng to kick my butt into gear and get my cellphone expensed. Turns out the company DOES expense it but the managers have been keeping it hush-hush to save money.. Grr.......
FabBroke, oh I agree! They jut don't work. I've never seen a girl rocking booties as such, but I have seen one girl pull off the ankle boots with a skirt. Pants getting caught inside the booties is a danger I hadn't considered ^_^. Glad you can claim your mobile bills back too!

You're right, those are particularly good examples of bad bootie design. They're appalling.
