Individual Chic: Dress-up shoes

Dress-up shoes

I love my heels, but I can’t walk in them, so the large majority live in a box in my shelves at work. When I’ve made it to the office in my ballet flats (but never thongs*) I shuck them off under the desk and pull on my fabulous heels.

But I have one pair of heels at home that I keep there especially. I call them my dress-up shoes.

When I get ready for work I put on what I’m planning to wear and have a good careful look at how it works together. BUT I can’t do this properly if I’m not wearing the shoes I’ll be wearing for the majority of the day, my heels at work. That’s wear my dress-up shoes come in. I slip them on and prance around in front of the mirror and make sure the whole look hangs together properly.

These shoes are nothing special, just a lovely pair of heels that used to live at work. The leather on the stilettos has started to lift, and the leather is a bit creased across the foot, but they were my first ever pair of stilettos and one of my most comfortable pairs of high heels. You can see them in what I was wearing back in February. I couldn’t throw them out so I’m very happy they have a second life as dress-up shoes.

Do you have a pair of dress-up shoes, and how do you wear them?

* Flip-flops for you non-Australian types

Dramatically practical! I never would have thought of that idea but it's brilliant.

I agree with others.

Pure Genius!

I always wore my joggers to work for comfort and left heels under my desk.
