Individual Chic: Use a real bag, not a shopping bag!

Use a real bag, not a shopping bag!

Australia is banning plastic bags from supermarkets, so they are being replaced by fabric bags like the one in the picture. I think this is a great idea and I own a bunch of them to use for carrying my shopping in. What I don't use them for is a handbag replacement.

That's right, you heard me, I’ve seen people using these bright green bags to carry their bits and pieces to and from work.

Seriously people! This isn't acceptable. I don't care if you don't have a handbag, if you don't like handbags, if you never plan to own a handbag; at least get yourself a neutral carryall, not a supermarket branded green one. Sheesh.

I've got no problem using green bags to put my groceries in. I have 6 or so that I take with me to the supermarket. I object to people using them as a handbag subsititute.

Funky, those bags look great as shopping bags.

We're starting to phase out supermarket plastic bags in the US too--and I see the opposite problem: people using handbags as grocery bags. I don't know what's worse--using the grocery bags as a handbag, or using a handbag as a grocery bag!

Using a handbag as a grocery bag? That is odd. They must have really big handbags!
