- Drivers who don’t indicate when they change lanes, ‘cause I’m sorry, you may be able to read minds but I’m driving and don’t have time to trawl through your subconscious looking for your uncontrolled impulses.
- Drivers who tailgate, but it’s really annoying when I’m driving in the country and there isn’t another car for 10km. Perhaps they’re lonely?
- People who don’t stand to the left* on escalators.
- People who don’t ask the people who aren’t standing on the left to move. I always say “excuse me please” and push past, politely of course.
- People who don’t ask for a seat on trains. I’ll always move if you ask me.
- People who don’t get up from their seat on trains and make you crawl over them. I try to step on toes, politely of course, as I do this. I occasionally ask them to get up if I have a lot of stuff, and you’d be amazed at the dirty looks you get. People who do get up I always smile at and say thank you.
- People who have seriously loud music playing through their headphones. I’m sure pleased you want to share your musical taste with me, but death metal just isn’t my thing at 7:30 in the morning.
- School kids picking their new ring tones for their phones on the train. This one really annoys me.
You know, I’m reading this stuff and I think most of it is just common politeness, just a little bit of awareness of the world and people around us. What gets your goat? Blog it and pass it on.
* We drive on the left in Australia, so we stand on the left too.

A most brilliant rant, and I have joined you in it on my own blog. I hope it made you feel better, I know I do!
Thanks Louise for passing it on.
